This was a fun cake to make. I must admit to a near disaster, though. When I was finishing up the cake and placing the flags, I put the checkered flags at the STARTING line. As it turns out, that would have been an unforgivable mistake (it would seem that everyone in the free world but me knows that they go at the FINISH line). Steve caught the mistake and saved me the almost certain humiliation. As soon as Kyle saw his cake, he pushed the red car through the icing to the finish line. It's a cake that doubles as a toy!!
