Easter 2009

Easter Sunday is aways great. We head home and do all the things we've been doing since I was a kid...including attending church. I think Evie was moved by the spirit, don't you? Anyway, here are some pictures of our Easter traditions:

Aunt Kelly helps with coloring the eggs!
On your mark, get set,......Hunt!!!!!! Why is Evie the only one who looks happy?
I found one!!
Sylvie hunts for eggs.
The weekend before Easter, our neighbors hosted a day of Easter fun...playing in the yard, decorating cookies, coloring eggs and hunting for eggs. It all ended with a hotdog supper! It was a great day! Thanks Paula and Stephen!!!!
Friends wait to hunt for eggs in our neighbor's yard.
Lilly decorates a cookie.

Evie, in her infinite cuteness.

A tiny vase of Lilly of the Valley from the backyard.

Not the greatest picture I've ever taken but I just wanted to share this image of these Indigo Buntings. I've never seen them around here and they must have been stopping through on their way to somewhere else because they were only here for 2 days. The one at the top is a juvenile male (splotchy brown and blue) and the one on the bottom must be his father. The female IBs are very plain and brown and I didn't notice one here.
O.K., don't think I'm crazy, but did she sign her name?????? I mean, isn't that clearly "evie" written in cursive? Freaky!!!!!

The Fish Pond Project
After being inspired by my Mom (who was inspired by Larry), we decided to put in a fish pond in the back yard. Mom funded the project and we did the hard labor. It took us the weekend, but it could have easily been done in one day. I finally have the little pond I've wanted since we left Brussel Street when I was 12.

Good morning and Happy Easter! We're heading home tomorrow to see my family, go to church withMom and hunt for Easter eggs. Evie is very excited because she is certain that the EB is going to bring her a brown horsey to ride. ...Yea, I have no idea where she got that.

I made 8 of these little cakes for the Make-a-Wish Foundation bake sale at Steve's work. Last month, I made 6 of them with Valentine's Day packaging. They sold very well. I hope these cheerful cakes do as well this month.
